A bumble bee perches on the yellow centre of a deep pink Cosmos flower, casting a shadow on the petals to the right. Above the sky is bright blue with some low white cloud. A large conifer tree rises out of a neighbouring garden and the top of our wood fence is just visible, all blurred out. Yesterday’s heavy rains seems to have brought our bee population out in force today, maybe making up for lost time. The garden is again abuzz with late activity before all the blossoms fall.
I know that the Bee Lady aka @soph0517.bsky.social is feeling bereft of buzzers now, so, as we still have them aplenty, I shall contribute one a day this week. Hard to choose today but I like this one for the shadow it is casting on the petal …
