1/2 Somewhere along the way, we lost the ability to say “I don’t know.”
Certainty has become our national reflex. Everyone has a take, everyone is right, and moderation has quietly exited the room.

What we learned (for elderly patients mostly): - Do not use 'vegetarian' in recipe names - Transform and hide vegetarian protein - Mix plant-based protein with meat - Present the environmental impact as the priority, not the cost savings - Put the sustainable choice as the first choice - On posters, indicate vegetarian options with a symbol - Do testing events or thematic activities to increase satisfaction From Annie Marquez, RD
There are many promising practices you can use to help nudge #planetaryhealth food choices in hospitals:
"Do not use 'vegetarian' in your menu item names - unless it's vegetarian pizza!" - Annie Marquez, @ciusssducentre-sud.bsky.social 😋🍕🍄

From surveillance to stewardship: Opportuni es for behavioural insights and policy to address antimicrobial resistance Alicia Demirjian, UK Health Security Agency Antimicrobial resistance (AMR), a pressing threat to global health, requires an integrated response across multiple disciplines. This presentation explores how behavioural and cultural insights can enhance efforts to address AMR. Drawing on national AMR and antimicrobial prescribing data from England, as well as case studies from primary care, hospital-based stewardship programmes, and international AMR collaborations, I will examine the central challenges and opportunities for shaping effective interventions. The focus will be on translating surveillance data into action, fostering stewardship, and informing policy through behavioural science.
Reflections • There are many opportunities to slow the spread of AMR • Need implementation strategies informed by behavioural insights • Opportunities to strengthen collaboration and communication between colleagues from different disciplines, and the public
Dr. Alicia Demirjian from the #UK #Health Security Agency (@ukhsa.bsky.social) started our final day at the 3rd #Behaviouralinsights & #AMR workshop.
Resistance and prescribing data + clinical cases prompted friendly debate (e.g. about modifying antibiotic habits via #policy regulations v. nudges).
I'm Zooming to Vienna from the U.S. for the 3rd #BehaviouralInsights & #AntimicrobialResistance Workshop.
Kudos to @abc-network.bsky.social for sustainable international conferencing!
I'll share highlights (even if I need to sleep through sessions starting at 3:30 AM my time 😅).
Great program! 👇
If we keep tweaking at the edges, we’ll keep failing. If we rethink systems, we can drive real change!

What happens if you combine #BehaviouralInsights & #QualityImprovement methods? Well, we tried in a project aimed at decreasing the use of IV #antibiotics in a busy #Copenhagen #hospital. It seems to be beneficial. What do you think? Have you tried something similar? journals.lww.com/journalpatie...

seravalli talking about how only 7% of nhl players are wearing a neck guard. he mentions interventions to increase wearing one like putting product in trainers hands and notices in locker room. this makes me think there is opportunity for a #behaviouralinsights solution! #nudgeforgood
