Rare to find someone who was almost universally unpopular… but step in Sir George Blount (1513-1581), brother of Bessie. Wife left him, daughter sued him, tenants refused military service with him…oh, & he shot neighbour with forked arrow & hacked off both his arms (victim survived) #bessieblount
Dame Eleanor Croft, reputedly had 340 descendants at her death in 1519.
Included Bessie Blount & Jane Guildford, future wife of John Dudley Duke of Northumberland. A great-great-great-grandmother. Possibly a record?
