Bethesda/Chevy Chase Area: March 20, 2026 Overhead night work along the Purple Line Alignment New: Starting on or about Sunday, March 22, 2026, Purple Line crews will install overhead wires overnight, between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. The work is not expected to generate much noise as crews work to connect the wiring. The crews will move along the alignment over the next two months from Connecticut Avenue towards Lyttonsville. As work continues, we will strive to keep you informed of the progress of this project.
