I recently was at the #Biospace25 conference at @esa.int in Frascatti, Italy where i presented my work about mapping Intertidal Seagrass across the whole of Europe! But don’t worry if you missed it, you can watch the talk here (at around 1:56:00): m.youtube.com/watch?v=naCR...
🟩 B-Cubed joined #BIOSPACE25 at @esa.int-ESRIN exploring how remote sensing & biodiversity data can work together 🤝

🆕 News and updates from #Biospace25 @geobon.org @esa.int 🌐
Can we monitor #biodiversity from space? YES. Last week, @creaf.cat researcher Ivette Serral attended the #Biospace25 conference at @esa.int. She showcased how a European Green Deal Data Space could enhace terrestrial habitat connectivity analysis using #EarthObservation, in-situ & #IoT data.
This week I was in Frascati, Italy at @esa.int in #BioSpace25 confernece
I presented part of my PhD thesis entitled "A comparative analysis of field-based ecology and remote sensing approaches to plant functional diversity" 🌳🌱🏞️🛰️
I met a lot of amazing people, here some pictures
What a fantastic week at ESA #Biospace25! 🚀🌍 Great discussions, inspiring talks, and the chance to reconnect with old friends while meeting new ones in the EO & environment community. Excited to have presented my WaCoRe project—a poster preview here: panmoravec.github.io/images/Biosp...
I had a great time at #Biospace25, the first international conference dedicated exclusively to the use of remote sensing to study biodiversity - high quality talks, sessions and workshops - lots of food for thought and lots of nice people in an always exciting venue like the European Space Agency!
@drgeoffsmith.bsky.social closed this week at #BIOSPACE25 with general conclusions of our session and recommendations to @copernicusland.bsky.social, @esa.int & other EO data providers 🛰
The lack of in situ data and downstream tools were identified as the main issues when monitoring 🌾 grasslands
Good conference - I dipped in & out online.
A missed opportunity that representatives from some of the @horizoneu.bsky.social missions did not present at #BIOSPACE25
For example what are outcome indicators for healthy soils by 2030, or "Restore our Ocean and Waters" ? How do they relate to EBVs?

As #BIOSPACE25 wraps up, I'd like to give a big thank you to the organisers, those in my workshop, and everyone else who attended. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Good high level overview of @ec.europa.eu #Copernicus presented at the presented at @esa.int #BIOSPACE25 Biodiversity Workshop.
European Commission works with trusted entities such as @esa.int, @ecmwf.int, @copernicusecmwf.bsky.social, @copernicusmarine.bsky.social and others to deliver services.
Delighted to hear #peatlands mentioned several times at the #Biospace25 conference. @greifswaldmoor.bsky.social
This is awesome! I just discovered the interactive IPCC from Copernicus at #BioSpace25

A Nature Finance presentation was given today at @esa.int #BIOSPACE25 by Dr. Nicola Ranger, from Oxford Uni.
The new ESA "Leveraging Earth Observation for Nature Finance” (LEON) programme seeks to identify some of the systemic long term risks for financial institutions and insurers.

Very interesting presentation by Dr. Nicola Ranger from @ox.ac.uk at @esa.int #BIOSPACE25.
When making decisions around a nature positive economy, say reversing biodiversity loss, we need to be clear about how proposed initiatives will benefit the economy longer term.
