A lifer for #SuperSeabirdSunday!
A Leach's Storm-Petrel was found at Idle Washlands, Nottinghamshire today.
Very windy making sea like conditions with the waves on the lake. The Leach's seemed right at home.

The male Black Redstart showed well in Pontefract on Saturday. Big thanks to Hep & Abi for allowing me and @unsociable-lapwing.bsky.social access to their garden.
I never thought I'd hear one singing in the UK!

A few weeks ago on the way back from the White-Billed Diver, I stopped by Hartlepool for the Black-Throated Diver in the marina.

The 2 Spoonbills at #RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands were showing very well, perched atop one of the trees on the Mere. It was also nice to get my first pair of Wheatear this year at Leasowe.

A picture of three Gadwall flying across a pond is accompanied with the heading 'March WeBS Core Count' and 'Sunday 21st'. At the bottom is the WeBS logo and the web address 'www.bto.org/webs'.
This Sunday is the WeBS Priority Core Count! Although WeBS is a year-round survey, March is the last month of the core winter period, which runs from September to March (inclusive). Let's make our counting count!

Blue Tit versus Bee. A Blue Tit exploring our nesting box had an unpleasant surprise and made an emergency exit when they encountered a large bee that has taken up residence.

No signs yet that our peregrines have discovered the new nest box we've built for them. Hoping they're not put off by its "scandi sauna vibe" - as one reviewer described it!

Tawny Owl tucked away in a tree at Titchwell
Record shot of the Titchwell Tawny Owl first recorded early '24, I believe, still roosting in the same tree last week. It tucks itself away and is really hard to see from the boardwalk. #BirdPhotography #BirdingUK #UKBirds #BritishBirds #BirdWatching #BritishWildlife #NaturePhotography
An adult peregrine falcon perched on an old nest ledge with buildings below.
Webcam view iside of a new wooden peregrine nest box with a base lined with deep pea gravel.
Our pair of #peregrine #falcons don't seem to want to leave their old nest platform. They certainly haven't discovered the new one we built for them yet.
There's a camera on both locations: derbyperegrines.blogspot.com/p/our-webcam...

Anyone know about behaviour of Great Crested Grebe? Watched one at @rspb.bsky.social Ham Wall, Somerset. In between diving for food it would often adopt a very low posture, sometimes calling. No other GCG in the immediate vicinity. Contact calling for its mate? (11.03.26) #birdinguk

I turned up this Ruddy Shelduck on my Day's Lock patch yesterday.
Do others count them on their #PWC2026 List?
I didn't count a Ruddy Shelduck seen in 2022 π€
