I still have my FB account active, chiefly for #boardwargaming, house rabbits, fashion-history reenactors, and pinups - and because most of my family and my high-school classmates are on there, which is basically why I got on FB in the first place. And that's basically what their algorithm gives me.

Exactly, and this is what frustrates me, as some people seem to have completely forgotten that. The #boardwargaming business community is ALL small businesses, many of which have been hammered by those tariffs.
Sooooooo true. I remember when I was at a #boardwargaming convention in early 2019, and got into a fierce bidding war over a copy of SPI's "Objective: Moscow" (an authentically rare game dating from 1978 with the subject being near-future Western invasions of the then-subsisting USSR)...

...has been much explored outside the #alternatehistory and #boardwargaming / #ttrpg communities, however.
As you might imagine, Operation Market-Garden has long been a popular subject in #boardwargaming. I bought this game, for example, the year after having seen the movie in its initial theatrical run: boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/42...
Welcome, and I'm not being sarcastic, to the hobby of historical #boardwargaming (which I've been involved with for close to half a century). The point IS to simulate conflict in game form.
If Linda Mosca were still with us, I think she would like to have a word with this Stallard. #boardwargaming #boardwargames #spi boardgamegeek.com/boardgamedes...
I read "Little Wars" a great many years ago when I was just starting to get interested in #wargaming. I ended up going into #boardwargaming mainly due to cost issues - the kind of armies I'd want to amass for playing Wells-style would cost an arm and a leg, plus which I'd kind of be leery of...
#OTD: the 220th anniversary of the battle #NapoleonBonaparte considered his greatest triumph, Austerlitz. The battle (and the campaign preceding it) are popular subjects in #boardwargaming. boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/27...
New (old) addition to the collection. The box is a bit tatty, but the inside is great, and it's unplayed.

I'm 61 and I'm in the full flower of my #boardwargaming renaissance. I'm trying right now to find a good price on SPI's mid-1970's monster "War in Europe".
A #boardwargaming version of this shirt would be more likely to use sixes, since most board wargames continue to make use of six-sided die.
I'm having trouble reaching grognard.com (a #boardwargaming site) at this hour. Cloudflare is the breakdown point there too.
My latest ebay bargain has arrived and its unused!

My #bunnies and my #boardwargaming hobby have kept me from running mad in the streets.
I found one of the buns had managed to escape their habitat this morning, but was able to chivvy them back in without too much trouble, Got me in the right frame of mind for the day!
Another new old board wargame arrived today 🙂

#Boardwargaming is an almost incredibly niche hobby compared to video gaming, so it stands to reason - I speak as a board wargamer of nearly half a century's standing - that per-unit costs are going to be a lot higher than what could be charged for mass-produced items. It's a fact that...
Even more relevantly to me personally, I entered the hobby that has personally defined my life more than any other - #boardwargaming - in the late 1970's, what many people would call its "golden age", the glory days of outfits like Simulations Publications, Inc. (SPI)...
Also, while I'll have to leave it in the time machine lest the copyright date give the game away, #boardwargaming 's version of Rule 34 comes into play again with this offering from Decision Games (located in Bakersfield, BTW): boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/20...
The late-1980's tariffs also killed one of the more intriguing #boardwargaming projects of the period, when a consortium of leading U.S. figures in the hobby were planning to import the games made by Japanese publisher Ad Technos, including the legendary #alternatehistory "Red Sun Black Cross"...

If *I* were rich, my dream would be to start up a #boardgame (specializing in #boardwargaming but with other genres welcome by all means) company like old Avalon Hill, which had printing facilities of its own readily available, & fund/publish games that are having trouble getting out.
