A Belgian lace pillow with a piece of bobbin lace underway. It has a drawing of the pattern partially visible under the red linen threads attached to a bunch of wooden bobbins. It has a flower motif and a crescent motif and a decorated complex right side edge.

I think it's the same lace as Elizabeth is wearing around her collar.

I will be visiting Elizabeth at @brickstoremuseum.bsky.social soon. I need to see her lace up close. I'm working on a a replica of that lace pattern right now. Mine is in red linen for this example, but next I'm going to do it in white.

The lace setup seen from the front. Hard to say what is going on because there’s too many pins. Wooden bobbins are hanging from the work in progress.

Just made a stand for a bobbin lace roller pillow. I sculpted the crossbars to look like two bobbins end to end. I sculpted a trillium flower on each side of the stand. #woodworking #woodcarving #woodturning #bobbinlace

For years I have worn purple on Tuesdays. It helped me with the loss of my mother. My craft friends know how much I love purple.
Starting today I will wear BLUE on Tuesday instead in solidarity with those we love. #knit #bobbinlace #quilt

I did it! 10cm of bobbin lace for dolls, to sew onto some sleeves. I need to practice my tension, but this is much prettier than my first try... It helps to actually do things correctly according to the pattern 😂 I can't wait to use it! #bobbinlace

I tried making some bobbin lace trim for my dolls, but realized I was doing it incorrectly after a while... You can see at the bottom where I started to do it better. I decided it was practice and I'll start over again. #bobbinlace

My DIY roller pillow, which is made of rolled up foam covered with a pale blue fabric. It rests on a cardboard box, and in front of it is a foam rectangle also covered in blue fabric. From this are hanging all my bobbins. A new design is pinned to the pillow, and I’ve started working it so there are a bunch of pins up there. On each side of my in-progress work, I’ve pinned a few examples of previous lace ribbons: a thin basic one in shades of red and purple, a larger one in white, black and grey, and my latest one, which is also white and grey and involves side fans.

One of the earliest lace I did. Just a basic one to figure out how to use a passive on the sides. It’s red, purple, and black

Started a new lace pattern. Seen here on my DIY roller pillow, next to a couple of the previous patterns I’ve tried out. Also included close up pics of some of the lace I did before DIY-ing myself the pillow #bobbinlace

The cover of Piecework Magazine Spring 2026 issue. It has the big PieceWork title on the top.

Below that it says "Celebrate American Needlework".
Other side text says: "Hidden Stories of Revolutionary Lacemakers" and "Piecing Together the History of Seminole Patchwork".

It shows some spools of thread around, a white one and two red ones. A blue woven shawl lays diagonally across the background.

On the shawl a beige pillow sits. It's a needlepoint rectangular work with a small colonial salmon colored house on the left. One story with 2 small windows on each side of a center entrance door. Three small dormer windows are visible in the brown roof above.

It says to the right of the house:
"To be Good
and
To do Good"

A rose and vine embroidery is below the writing.

My blue Swedish lace pillow with my Ipswich lace in progress. It has dozens of wooden bobbins around the front, wrapped with black silk threads, with my lace in progress on the roller part of the pillow. You can see part of the pattern, and the rest is covered with the pins in the completed lace section.

To the back is my completed yardage rolled around a little tiny holder. To the upper left is my decorated pin box with a colonial woman wearing a black shawl and a cyanotype of a sailing ship that was turned into a lace pricking.

A banner on the front has the PieceWork cover I described in the other image, and it says "I'm in PieceWork".

I have an article coming out in the spring #Rev250 theme issue of PieceWork, about #IpswichLace + stories of women who made or used the lace.

Another article about #AbigailAdams has a needlepoint of her house + a phrase on it.

Set up to start a new #BobbinLace bookmark. This is a new technique for me, lace from the Bedfordshire school. Wish me luck. I'll probably begin later today or else Tuesday.

Ok I’m done w/ the fan headside, and my conclusion after that & diamonds is that I really don’t like doing cloth stitches. Wondering if it’s worth learning spiders next or if I should just pick a nice pattern that’s all ground cuz that’s what I’ve been enjoying doing the most so far #bobbinlace

A shot of the library space where the sign above the aisle says "Library of Things" and the nearby metal shelves offer a bunch of things you can take to your house and use.

On the top shelf is another sign that says Home Things and just to the right of that is the lace pillow we asked if they would stock. It's not the actual pillow itself, it's their DVD holder kind of plastic item that shows the pillow and the components. Close up of that in the other image.

The close up of the Home Things shelf and our lace pillow DVD box thing next to it. It shows the pillow and the other items that come with it, and there's a list of the components so people will know what comes with it.

You can take this DVD box to the main desk and check out a lace pillow and the other bits.

We picked up our lace from the display in a local library yesterday (Morse Institute in #NatickMA). We also suggested some books + items for the library to defeat #AIslop beginner books, and a beginner #BobbinLace pillow setup for the #LibraryOfThings.

Equipment is hard to assess as a beginner.
