One leaf of a carnivorous Sundew plant. The leaf is round, about 1 cm. across, and covered with stalked glands (they call them tentacles) radiating out in all directions, each one tipped with a drop of "dew", actually a mix of sugary nectar, glue, and digestive enzymes. The leaf surface is green, the "tentacles" are red. Background, sphagnum moss.

Yellow blooms of the seep monkey flower (Erythranthe guttata). The corolla is trumpet shaped like most monkeys, but squished so the flower opening is narrow and horizontal.
Delicate purple flowers of the CA hedgenettle (Stachys bullata). The lower petals have a fine lacy white pattern.
A couple friends chillin' in my temporary water feature (aka a bucket) until bog 2.0 is ready. I love the seep monkey flower, their sunny yellow color is so cheerful but their squashy faces say they're not happy about it. Harumph!
