Walking round RSPB Dove Stone today and spotted this rather rustic looking 🦇 box!

Led a fantastic bat walk on Tuesday for a community group in Godley, Greater Manchester. We picked up common and soprano pips, and myotis species - likely Brandt's or whiskered.

South Lancashire Bat Group has been surveying millponds in Bury for about 30 years. Last night marked the end of this year's surveying (we got it done in a record 5 nights). Lots of common pips on this pond and Daubenton's on many of the others. 🦇🖤🦇

Been out three times this week and this little common pip seems to follow the same pattern each night - feeds in our garden for about 30 minutes shortly after sunset then disappears off to hunt somewhere else. 🦇🖤🦇

Night scented flowers are a great way to encourage moths, which are a tasty snack for many bats here in the UK. I was looking for 'night-scented stocks' but the best my garden centre could do was 'night-scented phlox'! Hopefully, they will also be popular with the moths!
