Jeff, after he appeared on stage as a guest speller last night in THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. They wouldn't allow photos while on stage, but let the guests take photos in *front* of the stage. He got a juice box, and got to keep the name card.

For the 2nd show today, Jeff is at New World Stages to see revival of THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. He got it through TodayTix for $48.

At THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG, before the show starts, tech people are working on the set, and asked Jeff to join them on stage to help. They asked him to stand there and hold up a mantle that is meant to fall apart, and later asked him to sweep the stage, using a broom that falls apart.

Jeff took today off, and is seeing two shows in New York. Today's matinee is THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG, off-Broadway at New World Stages. He's sitting in the front row on the aisle (leg room! So much leg room!), and got the ticket for $35 through their lottery.

Much of the original cast still in at the time it was printed: Sydney Chaplin, Jean Stapleton, Roger De Koven, & Kay Medford. The program lists '1964', so not sure how early in the run this is from. Lee Allen (listed) replaced Danny Meehan as 'Eddie Ryan' at some point, unsure when.

Another from the box of souvenir Broadway theatre programs! Today's pick is from the original '64 run of FUNNY GIRL at the Winter Garden, starring Barbra Streisand. The musical had a book by Isobel Lennart, music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Bob Merrill, and was directed by Garson Kanin.
