๐ฆ What a beauty! Clouded yellow butterfly on the Farm Trail today - the first we have seen for years โค๏ธ. These butterflies migrate here from North Africa and southern Europe. Look at those lime green eyes and pink legs! #butterfly #butterflycount #bling #thebugfarm
๐ฆ We're seeing hummingbird hawk moths most days on the buddleia here at the moment.

Can any of you kind #bluesky experts identify this for me please? Assume it's a moth maybe one of the waves? I was doing a butterfly count but am not too sure about moth species and despite research can't identify it. Found in UK woodland area.

There's been an emergence! Inula Island is doing a sterling job as a small tortoiseshell butterfly sanctuary, surrounded as it is by green deserts of cropped lawns and mowed verges. #butterflyconservation #butterflycount #ButterflyScotland Isle of Mull

This mile-long stretch of verge held at least 42 different flowering species - a biodiverse strip meadow full of summer flowers now turned into a desert just as small tortoiseshell butterflies are emerging. No wonder they're in decline. #IsleofMull @argyllandbute #ButterflyCount
Perfect day to get #GetOutForTheCount & do my first #ButterflyCount - 47 butterflies of 8 species, with fresh Peacocks, Commas & lots of Red Admirals. Help @savebutterflies & get involved http://www.bigbutterflycount.org
Large White (Pieris brassicae) was the most abundant species in this summerโs UK Big #ButterflyCount - 2nd time it has come top. However, its numbers this summer were only just above average. Many thanks to everyone who took part this year!...
