Why Lebanon should join the International Criminal Court ICC jurisdiction in Lebanon would mean a chance of accountability for Israeli war crimes and renewed political pressure.

Focusing minds on a conflict and mobilizing CSO resources, are among strong reasons why @markkersten.bsky.social says Lebanon should join the International Criminal Court. In addition, it would complement Lebanon's leading advocacy for a crimes against humanity treaty. #CAHtreatynow

Las víctimas deben ocupar un papel central en la Convención sobre crímenes de lesa humanidad.

Integrar la perspectiva de género de forma transversal es clave para paliar las lagunas en la prevención y la rendición de cuentas por los crímenes de género. #CAHTreatyNow

The Sixth Committee has started discussing the proposed treaty on crimes against humanity. The CAH Initiative reminds States that consensus means agreement, not unanimity. And while maintaining consensus is ideal, States should take a vote if necessary. It is time to make a decision.

More States Open to Considering Gender Apartheid for Draft Crimes Against Humanity Treaty Learn what UN members said about denoting violations such as the Afghan Taliban's dystopian repression as a crime in a possible treaty.

The treaty has the potential to advance gender justice by redressing gaps, reflecting current jurisprudence, and recognizing new crimes. This includes the codification of gender apartheid, a call that emanates from Afghan & Iranian women. #CaHTreatyNow

As @leilasadat1.bsky.social & I wrote for @justsecurity.org, states are overwhelmingly supportive of a move to negotiations but a few states could act as spoilers. States need to stay strong today and not let a small opposition derail the process. #CaHTreatyNow
