5 labeled stars linked with lines to make the letter W and 2 tiny, labeled clusters above, on blue background.
Hi stargazers! On late northern winter evenings and throughout spring, #Cassiopeia the Queen descends in her throne in the northwest after nightfall. It's one of the easiest #constellations to spot because of its distinctive W or M shape. 👑🌌🔭

The night sky with the constellation Cassiopeia going from top to bottom. Very faintly, the northern Milky Way goes through the constellation. This is a stack of 21 images with 8 darks. The are 30 second images at an ISO of 3200 f/4 Nikon Z5 with a Sigma 105 mm lens. Traced with a MoveShootMove Nomad. It is processed in PixInsight.
The same as the first, plate solved and annotated by PixInsight.

You dwell upon a vast hollow
where my anger keeps
weather. Zero exits—
no intention of mercy.
I could torch every
sweetness, reduce light
to smoke. Strip laughter
from her echo screams—
and —turn photographs
into cinders. She’d still
exist in the atmosphere.

Constellations Andromeda at bottom right and Cassiopeia upper left, and Andromeda galaxy between them.
The #AndromedaGalaxy, aka Messier 31 (M31), is the nearest large spiral galaxy to our Milky Way at about 2.5 million light-years away. Find it using the constellation #Cassiopeia.

The weather has been so abysmally awful lately. No clear days, no clear nights. Happily reprocessing and making little videos of my deep sky objects though. Nice cosy blanket and hot drinks 😊 Here's the #WizardNebula found between #Cassiopeia and #Cepheus 💚 Can you spot the Wizard?

The image shows a dark sky p\over some roofs, with a bright Moon in the centre. The Moon is overexposed, with some internal camera reflections near it. Jupiter is visible as a bright spot below the Moon. To the left of Jupiter are stars Pollux and Castor in Gemini, at right part of constellation Orion is visible.
The image shows a closeup of Jupiter, with one moon right near it at lower left, and three other moons aligned at upper right from the planet.
The image shows a starry sky with the Pleiades star cluster at top, just left of centre. Planet Uranus is visible as a starlike spot lower right of centre. It is marked by an arrow.
The image shows a starry sky with a short streak of light right of centre, in the constellation Cassiopeia. The streak is experimental communications satellite BlueWalker3. Close inspection shows a faint streak of light at bottom left of centre. This is another satellite. The image was gtaken at 18:35 UT.
The evening started with a nice clear sky. Images showing the #Moon and #Jupiter in #Gemini, #Jupiter with its four large moons, the #Pleiades with planet #Uranus (marked with arrow), and #BlueWalker3 satellite in #Cassiopeia. @leonoor.bsky.social @waddensky.nl @tubaniels.bsky.social

2 labeled constellations with a purple line from each leading to Polaris in the middle.
Tonight, look for 2 of the northern sky’s most prominent #sky patterns: the constellation #Cassiopeia the Queen and the #BigDipper asterism in Ursa Major the Great Bear. They both circle around #Polaris, the North Star, once a day, every day. 🌌🔭

A night sky photo of stars overhead, with only a few branches of a tree barely visible to the middle right that have a violet tinge from lighting on the ground. The brightest stars seen in the sky in the image form a "W" shape, which is formed by the principle stars of the Northern constellation of Cassiopeia, the seated queen. The left arm of the "W" is a bit more flattened, unlike the upright right arm. The sky is full of smaller, dimmer stars. But the main feature stretches all the way from the upper left corner, the the lower right corner. It might look like the Milky Way, but it is a high band of clouds made more visible by mild light pollution being reflected off them, and time exposure. The structure of the continuous cloud bands is not very straight lines, but very hazy, bright twists and turns. The cloud bands cross neatly over the stars in Cassiopeia. The cloud bands look more diffuse in the upper left.
#Cassiopeia, and the NOT Milky Way (Newsflash, it's just a well placed photogenic #cloud at #longexposure).
Not shabby at all for just in the driveway!
What's Cassiopeia? I'll pop a link in the comments.
Meantime, take time to breath.
I know, it's a lot for all of us right now.

A night photo of a dark sky after nightfall, with many visible scattered stars across the upper 3/4 of the image. But very low down, and left of center is a bright point of light between some trees. That is the planet Jupiter. The remainder of the bottom 1/4 of the image are silhouetted tall conifer trees, and in front of them bare trees without leaves gently underlit by a soft reddish glow from below. And on the far right bottom corner is a strong purple light that softly colors some minor fogginess into the sky above. The rest of the sky above is Winter stars and constellations. The distinctive sideways "V" shape of the head of Taurus The Bull is center right, with horns pointing left. The two bright stars that are the tips of the horns line up with a tall pointy tree just right of center. Above it is the tight, bright jewels of the Pleiades constellation. Seven bright stars that have been known to humankind longer than we've had words. The bright circumpolar star Capella is just left of dead center. Above that is the constellation Perseus, Greek hero, "...a guy made of dots and lines". There are many other small stars visible, some have stories and belong to more constellations, but only so much space in Alt. I would suggest searching for information on Winter Constellations, and lookout for rabbit holes of information. 🐇😆
A stretch of night sky overhead with a night conifer tree top underlit in red from below in the lower left corner. Just above the tree is a chain of stars that make a short "M" shape. That is the Constellation Cassiopeia. Just to the right and up a bit is the fainter constellation Perseus. Following a diagonal line from Cassiopeia through Perseus, we pass the bright star Capella lower a bit toward the right corner, then pass through the horns of Taurus whose head is upside-down from the top right with the inverted "V". And to the left of the bull head is The Pleiades. The constellation Andromeda is to the upper right, as is the galaxy of the same name. By tapping the image and pinch zooming, a faint diagonal dimly glowing slash "\" is the disk of that distant galaxy, just visible to the unaided eye from dark places.
The night sky cleared up after WEEKS of clouds. A gift for the #Holidays!
Enjoy the season, no matter how you mark the celebrations! 💚🎄

Hi stargazers! The #constellation #Cassiopeia the Queen is a well-loved fixture of fall and winter evening skies. #Schedar is its brightest star. This orange-colored star is easy to find and is often used by stargazers to locate the Andromeda galaxy. 🌟🌌🔭

Wide field of red glowing nebula threaded with dark dust lanes and very many scattered stars across space.
Andy Dungan captured this image near Cotopaxi, Colorado, and wrote, "Large area of nebulosity (Sh2-202) in #Camelopardalis, on the border with #Cassiopeia, 2600 light-years away." Thank you, Andy!
