The gentle purple colour
of my mood, a lilac longing,
like the blooming
of a quiet bruise—
Remembering you.
This was your favourite shade,
you said I wore it well.
Now it hangs like a funeral veil,
as I sit within the ash
of memories—
a lilac flower laid
