large glass spheres of different sizes, colours and patterns by the artist Dale Chihuly. they could be planets, with vivid surfaces and atmospheres. the canoe is lit against a dark background so the colours really pop. i'm fascinated by these, and much of Chihuly's oevre. i saw them at an exhibition in the ROM, Toronto. i was feeling down that day and didn't want to leave the apartment. i forced myself to go, and woo mama, was it worth it! a mind-opening experience that turned me on to sculpture and was a real treat for my rainbow-seeking brain :)
