Cup-boarder collies cache tea about to steep;
Stealing tea balls, they flash to the kettle's whistle,
fetch tea cups and any sleepy dormice,
herd people to their chamomile or thistle,
then clap down to watch their flock's sleep
become ginormous.
thawfade a leaving stings the skin like heat that rises too late after contact vanishing at the same time livid evidence held at the surface I touch it to see if it stays it does not we forget what no longer requires a body small proof we are alive

Pink and pinker and pinkest-
Nothing rhymes with embarrassment.
That all-or-nothing thing that do-nothings know:
the crushing feeling of being good-for-nothing,
flushing shame, hushing game, rushing blame.
Airbrushing with claims 'twas nothing
worsens embarrassment.
embarrassment rises in pale cheeks as I can feel the redness spread it stings sharp, like a thousand bees yet I don't know what I had said everyone's staring, they all hate me - why? "if you don't know, I'm not gonna say," it's really unfair, I'm not the bad guy but I'll leave to keep peace, I'll go away
