Yeah, I lost it as it was climbing...I was 8 years old and I will never forget it. The teacher wheeled in a TV for us to watch it and it was so beyond tragic. #challenger

Als alle die explodierende Challenger sahen, war zunächst ein Moment Stille. Dann der Kommentar aus dem Kontrollraum:

Obviously a major malfunction.

So war das damals. Nur Fakten, keine Emotionen.

Stood in my backyard staring at the trailing plum that just hung in the sky for what seemed like hours. Space Shuttle #Challenger

Challenger, Gray & Christmas reports that US employers announced 60,620 job cuts in February, up from 48,307 in January. The year-over-year change in job cuts was recorded at -78%. #Challenger #US #Stocks

Just burst into tears telling the boys about #Artemis2 successfully taking off.

Huge thing for those of us who watched #Challenger as kids (or adults). Didn’t realise it was that raw still.

I'm not surprised to see that "Challenger" was trending. Sad memories while working at AT&T. Someone yelled out in the office that the #Challenger had exploded.
I was watching & praying that #ArtemisII have a successful launch. 🙏🏾👍🏾

Felt like I held my breath the whole time today watching the #Artemis launch. #challenger effect I guess. And in 10 days I guess I will be dealing with the #Columbia effect and holding my breath again #godspeed #tothemoon 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

My mom refused to watch the #ArtemisII launch specifically because it reminded her of the #Challenger disaster and feared it would happen again live on camera. Turns out it's not such an unusual fear from what I read online...

While we are reminiscing about the #Challenger Disaster, I have a little known fact for you all.

Current Science, the school magazine, had a form for students to recommend their teacher go to space.

Her students picked her to go.

I worked at a defense electronics firm. About 15 minutes after starting work, the two story bldg, with manufacturing on bottom + admin/exec on top floor, heard #Challenger announcement. You could hear a pin drop anywhere. We walked around in shock the rest of the day. This affected ALL Americans!💔😭

So, my Challenger Trauma happened when I was in the 1st grade. I just remember Mrs. Jordan running up front to turn the TV off, then being assembled in the gym to ease our collective trauma. #Challenger #Challengertrauma

Talking to some friends, also #millenials about the #challenger disaster. And I was in kindergarten, and they had an assembly and put it on the big screen in the gym. And this fucker BLEW and all these kids were screaming like crazy. I was more confused if anything. But I know a few people who […]

Not the only one to watch the #Challenger live in class? I was around 8 just before I changed schools. I was living on the East Coast. I remember because I came to school after dentist so I was tired. As I sat down to watch we saw it explode (not knowing what happened) TV was quickly off.

Challenger trauma 40 years on is still a shocking experience. I was 8 then. I'm now older than the Challenger astronauts when they died. I still mourn them, and I rage at the justice they were denied.

Yet, I am thrilled to see missions carrying their spirit race to the stars.

During the entire #Artemis launch, I was absolutely flashing back to being in 8th grade in 1986 when the #Challenger exploded

Shoutout to my fellow Xennials who didn’t watch the launch today.

And to my fellow Texans who won’t be tuned in for re-entry.

We know too much about O-Rings & heat shield tiles and we learned it all against our will. #Challenger #Columbia #ArtemisII

I definitely had #Challenger PTSD, but also so many glorious memories, like Alan Shepard, John Glenn, "One small step...". I shed a few tears for all those memories, both good and bad. And I celebrate the brave heros and pioneers who do this. Lord knows we need some heros!

Well. GenXers can breathe a sigh of relief.

I just overcame one part of our many childhood traumas through immersion therapy.

#ArtemisII didn't blow up on take off.
