🇨🇦 The #Climate is changing and the #Frogs disappearing, so I can't go along with any politician who isn't brave enough to stand-up, speak out and act.
I thought that the #Liberals were the party that would protect us but I was wrong, so now I'm #NDP and very happy that we have chosen #AviLewis.

The World Meteorological Organisation warns Earth's climate is out of balance. Will El Niño worsen impacts? The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) has warned that Earth’s climate is now more “out of balance” than at any point in recorded history. This imbalance refers to the difference between the amount of heat energy the planet absorbs from the Sun and the amount it radiates back into space. According to the WMO, Earth is currently absorbing far more heat than it can release, largely due to greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide produced by human activities like burning fossil fuels. This excess energy is not harmlessly dispersed, in fact, it is accumulating within the climate system and driving widespread changes. The consequences are already visible. Over 90% of this trapped heat is stored in the oceans, which have reached record temperatures, accelerating sea-level rise and intensifying storms. At the same time, glaciers are retreating rapidly and polar sea ice is at or near historic lows. The WMO also highlights that the past 11 years have been the warmest since records began in 1850, with global temperatures now around 1.43°C above pre-industrial levels. Atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations are at their highest in at least two million years, reinforcing the conclusion that human activity is the primary driver of this imbalance...

Somalia: Drought Fuels Climate Shocks, Urges More Funding Somalia, 29 March 2026 – Somalia has said a worsening water crisis lies at the centre of the country’s recurring climate shocks, as authorities called for stronger and more predictable funding to move from emergency response to long-term resilience. Speaking at the opening of the Country Humanitarian Forum (CHF) on Sunday, the Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mahmoud Moalim Abdulle, said the country continues to face repeated droughts and floods that displace communities and deepen humanitarian needs. “Somalia continues to face recurrent droughts and floods… we are still responding to the same crises year after year,” he said. He noted that around 5 million people are facing food insecurity, including more than 2 million in emergency conditions, while nearly 2 million children are affected by malnutrition. The commissioner said access to water remains a critical challenge, with about 280 boreholes currently non-functional and water prices rising to between $12 and $15 per 200-litre barrel in some areas, putting safe water beyond the reach of vulnerable households. “This situation is not sustainable. We must shift from reacting to crises to preventing them,” he said. Abdulle said the government is advancing a new approach focused on prevention, preparedness and...

Léon Gimpel : La Mer de Glace (1911)
autochrome.
