Reconstructions underway on the final day of the #cshlcourses cryo-EM course! Yesterday, Mike Cianfrocco gave a great talk on the future of cryo-EM. Today, the final competition - 7 hours to reconstruct, model build, and validate your data!
In the past few days at the #cshlcourses cryo-EM course, we got a model building in ISOLDE tutorial from @alexisrohou.bsky.social, and the always amazing @olibclarke.bsky.social led us through an advanced data processing in cryoSPARC tutorial, also offering “office hours” for student’s own datasets!
It may be the first day of spring, but here at CSHL, we are already preparing for summer! Check for upcoming deadlines and details on our summer courses at both of our campus below:

At the #cshlcourses cryo-EM course, Rich Waldo from @structurabio.bsky.social gave us a tutorial on cryoSPARC and did a fabulous job! I was honored to be used for an Einstein from noise demo.
Competition #1 begins at the #cshlcourses cryo-EM course with, “Who can make the best grid”? Also, learning clipping and loading grids! @matt-braga.bsky.social
Hi Ed - It was our pleasure to participate and demonstrate our GraVitri Plunge Cooling System for grids. We hope the students found it informative! Best regards, Tim

Day 2 started with learning about the tools of our trade. Then we joined forces with the #cshlcourses #cryoEM course for a power hour of cutting-edge/advanced topics. We wrapped up with practicals on grid preparation & TEM screening.
Thanks to @mitegen.com & TFS for helping with our demo stations.
Day 4 of the #cshlcourses cryo-EM course! Learning manual blot, vitrobot, and GP2 grid freezing, negative stain and imaging on the Talos, and Krios tuning on top of evening data processing sessions! @matt-braga.bsky.social
First day of the #cshlcourses 2026 cryo-EM course in the books! We had @landerlab.bsky.social start us off with a historical perspective on #cryoEM, followed by a data processing overview from Kelli, reconstruction principles from me, and ending with the start of the Relion tutorial from Katerina.

Had the most rewarding time at the HTNA #cshlcourses It was fun science-ing all day/night for 2wks to learn modern viral, whole 🧠 imaging & barcode-based seq approaches to understand neuroanatomy/function. Inspired & energized as I think of all the ways these tools can be applied in my own work!🧪 1/
