A column of Oxford, Jesus College MS 111, fol. 178v. The Welsh text, part of the First Branch of the Mabinogi, describes Teyrnon keeping a vigil on the night of Calan Mai in an attempt to learn why newborn foals keep going missing annually on that night. He learns that they’re being snatched away by a mysterious giant claw. In saving his foal he finds a baby (later revealed to be a prince), apparently stolen by the claw earlier in the evening.

Crystals growing from one side, and curled goat horn springing from the other...this mask is ready to find it's new owner and grace their being with a rich darkeness!

Had to add the side profile so you can see the size of the horn curling off the mask! It is so awesome and adds such a cool visual element!
