This #CarersWeek I met with unpaid carers and pledged to keep standing up for them in North East Fife and across the UK.

We need urgent action and a new National Carers Strategy to tackle the inequalities carers face and deliver the support they deserve. 🧡 #CarersWeek2025

Why equality in care must start with supporting unpaid carers For Carers Week 2025, Jess Plant shares her experience of caring for her mum and calls for the real support unpaid carers need and deserve.

#carersweek2025 "Carers seem to be propping up a broken social care system. Most of the time we are invisible. Often there seems to be the silent expectation that we will give everything.....without complaint".

I know carers, and people being cared for, and it's tough. Responsibility for family members, or friends, on top of normal responsibilities is a weight, even when gladly borne.

Unpaid and family carers work tirelessly and prop up the care sector and NHS, yet many struggle financially and emotionally due to their responsibilities. We owe carers a system that truly supports them—no one should have to choose between providing care and making ends meet. #CarersWeek2025
