Oh, that was a cute one. The #jdrama #CinderellaCloset has a tomboy-ish woman meets a lovely femme genderfluid man and they become closer, learning to love themselves and each other. I think that was the queerest straight drama or the straightest queer drama I've ever seen. And enjoyed!

It's definitely not a BL but I think #CinderellaCloset deserves a mention for its open and positive representation of cross-dressing character.
It’s probably worth saying though that #LegendoftheMagnate is very different from the Japanese drama #CinderellaCloset! (the OP has said this is their favourite drama of the year)
There is a very wide range of cdramas from 2025, so if the OP is interested I’m sure they’ll find one that appeals
I planned to do the #EYDC2025 until I realised that I only finished 2 dramas this year that weren't rewatches. 💀 ( #learningtolove and #cinderellacloset - the latter was my favorite drama this year) I've become such a ruthless dropper that I ditched #romanticsanonymous on ep 7 of 8. #jdrama

Haruka from #CinderellaCloset. I was so charmed by her sweetness, adored her smile, and loved how fiercely she stood up for Hikaru.
On the opposite end, honorable mentions go to Hua Yong from #Desire and Fan Xiao from #ToMyShore because I love 🚩🏴!

I enjoyed it a lot, but was a bit disappointed that Hikaru ended up in permanent 'boy mode' (albeit quite a glam version). His choice, obviously, (Haruka was clear that she loved him in either gender), but it seemed odd when the fluidity was so important to him at the start. #CinderellaCloset
