Along the headwaters of the River Kennett, some #treeflowers: Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa), Crab? Apple (Malus sp.) & Wych Elm (Ulmus glabra).
And a once splendid crop of, I assume Ganoderma bracket fungi.

Flowing along the Lidgate/Cowlinge parish boundary West of The Belt, the River Kennett remains a delightful chalk stream, despite various pipes, including inflows.

Just before the River Kennett enters Pound Green there is a patch of Watercress in it, besides the more common Fool's Watercress. Ground Ivy on the banks. It is joined from the East by a small tributary.

As the River Kennett flows towards Pound Green, Cowlinge it begins to be more like a stream, ancient trees along the bank, Cowslips on the bank and Fool's Watercress in the water.
