An American bullfrog rests on a rock in St. Vrain Creek in Longmont, Colorado. In this horizontal color photograph, a close-up captures the frog with its head emerging from the water in the upper left corner of the frame. Its reflection mirrors back on the surface, while the clear water reveals the large rock beneath it. The foreground is dominated by the dark, nearly black rock, which drops off into the creek bed below.

Looking the other way, we no longer see the slope but we can see off to the right water flowing into the main creek from the gully that ended that hill. A more gradual slope is rising to the right. The light is a bit harsher and whiter.

The vagaries of morning light. Two photos take from the same spot, first facing north, the second facing south about 45 seconds later.

Light and water ripples over the various colored rocks in creek bottom make designs and patterns in the creek.

The same effect in a different place in a creek.

I am eagerly awaiting the end (still weeks away) of taking these photos because the trees having leafed out make the creeks flow green.

A lovely day to drop Portland frog, No Kings, and love rocks in the park. Rood Bridge is a lovely park to take a stroll at.

most of the Lower #Creeks supported Tecumseh while the Upper #Creeks were rather evenly divided in their allegiance. This division resulted in the Red Stick War, a devastating civil war within the tribe.

Planting native shrubs along little creek today and came across about a dozen feathers from a northern flicker. That is the circle of life. Doing our part to plant food and cover.
