I too am sick of the #Roanoke story. I first read about this when I nine (in the 90's) and even then I was like "Well duh, they went to #Croatoan island." The only #mystery here is why anyone ever thought there was a mystery.

On this day in 1590, the governor of the Roanoke Island colony in present-day North Carolina, returned from a supply trip to England to find the settlement deserted. They found no trace of the 100 or so colonists he left behind, and there was no sign of violence.
