Ribbed crochet sock in a colour changing yarn of blue, grey and white, is lying unblocked and a bit wobbly on a grey fleece blanket. The sole, toe and heel are in plain single crochet and the top of the foot and the ankle are ribbed.
On the assumption that everyone is currently hyper-focussed on socks, here’s another iteration of my frog socks (ribbit ribbit 🐸)

The toe and heel of the sock is crocheted and worn, the first three rows of rib along the side of the foot can be seen- connecting the toe and heel and growing from the side of the single crochet sole
More rib has been crocheted to come round the top of the foot and about ten rows have been extended up the leg
The rib has now come all the way over the top of the foot and about two thirds of the leg is complete, a stitch marchet with an ‘evil’ eye can be seen marking the bottom of the leg section where it connects
The sock is now complete and has a slip stick back loop only cuff attached.
My Frankensteinian pursuit of the perfect crochet sock continues. I think I like this one even better than the other (which I think of as “twisty toes”).
I came up with a construction I haven’t seen before- sc toe, sole and heel first, turn 90 degrees and blo sc.

Crocheted sock in pale mustard wool with single crocheted toe and heel, and an extended single crochet v stitch foot. There is a long cuff for the ankle that appears to be a ribbed version of the foot’s pattern. Stitch pattern in alt text of next photo.
Very poor scribbly stitch diagram. My sincere apologies! Rows 1,2 and 3 are vertical on the left and show the v stitch pattern: 2 extended sc into second chain from hook, repeat. I actually crocheted the foot in the round. Row 3 ends in a chain of 8 stitches that turn the corner to start working the rib (I actually did chain 20 for the sock pictured) The rib is all worked back loop only, except for the two stitches that connect it to the sock. The stitch pattern for even rows 4 and up is sc into third chain from hook, (repeat sc into second chain from hook, ch 1, slip stitch into the same space as the sc), end with two extended single crochet into row 3 to continue the pattern of the foot and attach the row of ribs. The stitch pattern for odd rows is the same by ends with: sc into second chain from hook, ch 1, slip stitch into the same space as the sc and chain 1 to move to the next row.
I am almost certainly reinventing the proverbial here (though I couldn’t find a pattern) but I am happy to have come up with this stretchy crochet rib to fit in with the v stitch pattern of the sock. Not the same but close. Stitch pattern in alt text for my future reference.

Can’t sleep so here is Kermit 1. Here it is hanging damply and learning its place. This is the first time I’ve tried slip stitch ribbing and it is very stretchy but it took a while to work out the neatest way to turn so the top is a little wobblier than I’d like
