Pretherapeutic DPYD and UGT1A1 Testing in Gastrointestinal Cancer This secondary analysis of a randomized clinical trial examines the use of pharmacogenetic-informed prescribing of fluoropyrimidines and/or irinotecan in patients with gastrointestinal cancer.

PGx testing in oncology: In the PREPARE trial (563 patients), actionable genotypes led to a 90% drop in toxic effects, fewer hospitalizations, and lower management costs without reducing treatment intensity or 3-year survival. Time to act!
