This novel is still perfect Dragnet. Maybe lacks a bit of the quirk of Novel #1, no funky witnesses, but is still very fine in its depiction of the police procedural.
The perp visiting Joe's apartment to murder him was a bit questionable. Wouldn't Joe be ex-directory?
