In Dolly's modern/our world iteration unfortunately yes, constantly.
They try to take it on the chin if people don't know/slip up, but they're hurt if it comes from a friend. Their co-workers hide behind their ignorance, and their parents outright refuse to accept their gender.

#DuvacOC is *very* independent. You don't get to rise in the ranks like he did without skill. He's quick to think on his feet which helps him in solo missions as well as when leading others.
Amelia's very independent. It takes a lot for her to ask for help. She leans more on Lucanis after they become close, but it takes a lot for her to let Viago help her again because of their strained relationship. She only really allows him to when they begin to fix it.
