*I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review* If you enjoy Dark Academia and YA fantasy, this book is made for you. Seemingly human girl is whisked off to another realm where magic exists and is immediately enrolled in a school for mages. She's on the hunt to figure out why her parents abandoned her on Earth 22 years ago and but also has to navigate a new world, a new school, and a new life. On the plus side she's found a new group of friend who want to help her find answers. But she also has to deal with a Malfoy wanna-be trying to cut her down at every turn and a moody man who she's forced to be tutored by. Tarot Card based magic system, dark political games, and a snarky FMC who just wants to take a damn nap. I think this book has a lot of great elements. I wish it were longer, so everything didn't feel so rushed. I'm interested in seeing where she takes us in book #2!
