Managed to move the sub menus out into it's own viewport now menu navigation is done! Still some work to do, particularly with text being blurry on larger menus but now happy with how this has come along!

Been a while, I've been busy! But I managed to get some UI elements rendering via a viewport in #godotengine and I started reworked the main menu to use it. Still working out some kinks but happy with it thus far!

The first draft of the main menu - it was imperative to start in the tunnels and a round menu just fits and is easy to use with controller eventually. I want to push the menus to be as #diagetic as possible.

Thematically, Big Tom loomed large in the frame at first, and then the camera pulls out, and he shrinks, and is surrounded by people, as he naturally becomes a smaller part of their lives in death. Conversely...
... the most prominent head in the frame here, even though Beverly is central, is Tommy Boy's lost, dazed visage. He has large shoes to fill, clearly, and he seems to know it, and be living in it/with it.
Another gorgeous, #diagetic -y transition, this time literally deathly serious (earlier, the young-Tommy to Farley #TommyBoy was played for laughs).
It works, and this is the serious, underlying #story that serves as #narrative foundation and emotional strength of this #Film.
