Four black-and-white pencil sketches of extinct animals on a piece of paper, arranged in a zig-zag from the top left to the bottom right. At the top is a Zygophyseter whale (viewed from below) carrying a large billfish by its bill, below and to the right of that is a front-view of the mouth-open head of Scutosaurus, below and to the left of that is a wide-hipped Lisowicia walking away from the viewer, and below and to the right of that is a highly exaggerated Patagomaia. It has an elephant trunk, long caracal-like ears, short and thick arms (that it’s walking on), horse-like legs carried high off the ground, and a short, bulbous tail. As Patagomaia is known from just a few scraps of leg bones, I took some absurd creative liberties.
Tonight’s four flocking-together #Paleostream sketches: a Zygophyseter carrying a billfish, the screaming head of Scutosaurus, rear-view Lisowicia, and Patagomaia (I took a little creative liberty). #paleoart #whale #pareisaur #dicynodont #mammal
