Photograph taken leaning out of Dunluce Castle and looking up the coast in autumn last year. Absolutely love the raw beauty of it. Image is grounded by the edge of ruined castle wall on the right hand edge - big pieces of stone jutting out. More stone and unruly coastal grasses at the bottom. Curving around the left side is the headland stretching off into the distance. Grey-blue sea takes the centre of the frame with some small white horses (of the wave variety, not ponies) near the rocks. Above is a cloudy sky with hints of blue behind and the sun trying to break through. The day threw everything at us weather wise - sun, rain, wind and croft handy dry drizzle...oh and 12 rainbows that day. Irish rainbows are the best I've seen by far!

Photograph taken of Dunluce Castle in Northern Ireland on a blustery autumnal day. Castle was lived in by two feuding clans (McQuillan and MacDonnell) at different points in its history. C16th ruins of a stone castle sit atop a grass covered cliff. Below is a turquoise-grey calm sea and blue sky peeping through grey clouds overhead. Have slightly brightened the image as it was a changeable weather day. Dramatic place to visit - well worth it.

Although there's been a castle on the site since the 1300's, the current structure dates from the early 1500's and has been abandoned since the late 1600's. It is open to visitors.
