Of note, TB helps here - turnaround time not THAT fast (still 16 days from positive culture to WGS guided treatment recommendations), but it's a slow disease.

Quite impressive to see a new diagnostic intervention (whole genome sequencing for rifampicin-resistant TB) to be superior to SOC.

Though note this was vs old standard of care for MDR-TB. (ie SOC now likely would do better anyway)

SCOUT UTI study great. N=768 👍. Interesting observations:
👉 clearly nitro great
👉 pivm also great (held back vs ESBL, but not inferior)
👉 fosfo not great *even with 2 doses*. Were these the non-E coli?
👉 better clinical resolution if micro +ve. Some are not actually UTI?

There is definitely a sweet spot of playback speed. Go too fast you have to keep going back (with low accuracy) to catch bits you've missed and then you take even longer overall to watch the video!

In an utterly bizarre and unlikely turn of events, my epic networking failure to finally meet @onisillos.bsky.social face to face at #ESCMIDGlobal2026 in Munich was resolved by running into him on the platform at Paddington Underground! What were the odds?? #IDSky

Bit perplexed by this dalbavancin PK-PD data from DOTS study. Modest association higher dalbavancin exposure & better outcome in Staph aureus bacteraemia.

Hard to know if giving more drug (3rd dose) would increase exposure when it matters (early?). Host drug metabolism factors?
