The dryer works again!
We have a nice compact vent that outlets onto the screened porch, nice and sturdy and purty. The porch now gets a nice blast of heat and the clothes may actually dry now!
One downside to having my family over for a week is that they're nitpicking my "money pit" house to bits. And finding ADDITIONAL problems.
The upside is they're an OCD contractor and mechanic so they keep fixing things without asking and we now have more power tools XD #EnberHouse Lemon Saga

The washer is fixed! My brother diagnosed & repaired it in like, 10 minutes. A support bar had hopped loose.
The dryer isn't working well because a prior owner changed the vent outlet to 20 feet of crinkle hose & it's clogged. We'll try switching it back to the wall.
#EnberHouse Lemon Saga continues! As you may know, the sellers hid a LOT of flaws, but the paint cracked & two boards collapsed clear thru.
My fam is staying from Up North this week tho, so three generations of contractors tackled the most rotted boards today! Stairs tomorrow. #EnberFam
I would like to not keep getting trounced by all these Lemon House issues.
26k for the HVAC in Feb
1,500 for the ditch in Nov
10k for fence
70k for rotted stairs and decks
7k for squirrel shenanigans
3,800 for trees...
Shingles are ok and siding is passable for now, at least 😑

Is it adult if I whine at the sight of this?
$7,000 to kick three squirrels out of the attic, seal it up, clean out all their poop and the insulation they've utterly destroyed into uselessness, and replace it with clean insulation.
Before they eat the furnace & wires & chew more studs. #EnberHouse
We fixed it! *faceplanting sigh of relief*
The wires and circuits looked fine, but the plunger seal had a coat of... I hope it was just detergent residue... so we cleaned that off, put it back together, and Hoped For The Best.
It is running again now. Whew. #EnberHouse
The roof is OK, though! The squirrels put a hole through the soffit and slipped a shingle, but it's otherwise Just Fine.
So there's THAT.
But the pile o problems sounds unbelievable at this point 😑

I promise you, there is just one medium sized decorative blanket in there, set to Small Load, Hand Wash Delicate.
Nothing is trying to get out through the side next to me.

A photo of the inside of an old white washing machine, top-load with a free swinging agitator bucket. The back right is dropped way lower than the rest, and the back left is almost leaning on the machine's casing. Several chunks of the back rim are ripped off like a monster snacked on it. There's water pouring in anyway, Enber needs clean work shirts. Fingers crossed!
Oh it has smashed itself to BITS on one side.
It dropped one corner of the tub a little lower a couple months ago, but it's REALLY low on that end now.
And part of the frame is... not there.
