#FantasyIndiesNovember 30: monthly wrap-up (at least I'm assuming it's supposed to be 😂)
November was a lot. But I managed to write a few times a week before I got to my Thanksgiving break. Dunno about actual word count.

The prompt list for Fantasy Indies November. Today's prompt is "Marketing tips" AND "Monthly wrap-up"
#FantasyIndiesNovember 30
Nov has only 30 days, so answering the last 2 at once:
My marketing tip is be consistent & creative.
This month was good for writing. I'm almost 20,000 words into this draft & the momentum feels good. I also said yes to doing some exciting 2026 things!

Day 30: Marketing is the thing I'm the absolute worst at. Unfortunately, I have no tips regarding that but if anyone wants to share tips with me, I wouldn't mind!

Monthly Wrap-Up
Been a month.
Finished and submitted the Goldberry short story.
Busy at work, retail you know, so I haven't been as creatively productive as I'd want.
Had a great Thanksgiving.

Day 30 #FantasyIndiesNovember
Skipping to the Monthly Wrap-Up:
November was really eventful! I finished “Dusk and Dawn at Laufenden” at last, found a publisher for “The Goatskin Codex”, and launched “The Gale at Quiet Cove”. Maybe my best month of 2025?

Day 30 of #FantasyIndiesNovember
Wrap up for this month:
🖊️ I added 10K words to Book 7 of my Oracle of Delphi series WIP. Total WC for the series is now 712,968.
📖 I read 12 books, none were indie unfortunately, and half were research for my WIP.
Onward to December! 🎉

Pythia Antiope carefully walked on the path through the Sanctuary, but when she noticed a new inscription had been put up by the Amphiktyons, she stepped closer and squinted at it. "… to the people of Athens, who are at the origin of everything that is good in humanity, and who brought mankind up from a bestial existence to a state of civilization …" Antiope shook her head. What nonsense. She continued on her way, and had already forgotten about the inscription.

Day 29 of #FantasyIndiesNovember
Another unedited snippet from Book 7 of my Oracle of Delphi series WIP. Here, the Pythia has reached an advanced age and reads an inscription from about 125 BCE. (catchup)

"She was to be situated here on the wall of death, for regardless of her tarnish, it is considered ill luck not to display an ancestor. And for a time, she was. However, strange and ghoulish occurrences tormented the house. Shrill screams in the night, the banging of harsh footfalls upon the floors. We soon surmised that it was the Lord's daughter, unhappy to be placed among the family that pushed her to her death.." A dry chuckle escaped Marcie's lips. "Unhappy? You speak as if the portraits have feelings." "Well, yes. Their very essence imbues this house. Their memories remain, caught like dust-motes in a shaft of light. To be remembered is to be immortal. And every time we look upon these portraits, we manifest, renew those memories." The housekeeper paused to laugh, "Yes, it might just be a romantic notion, to hope that our loved ones may linger beyond the canvas. But then, what is so wrong about that?"

Day 29 & 30 ✍️
Saturday snippet & marketing tips.
This snippet is from a short story I started for a sapphic horror submission call. As usual, I didn't finish it in time.
I've yet to sell any of my work so unfortunately have no marketing tips..yet!

Day 30/31
I did my own 50k challenge this month and finished my WIP. I played a lot of Powerwash Simulator 2 to zone out this past weekend.
Marketing tip: Do what you enjoy or else it'll be tough to keep doing it.
Thanks @chesneyinfalt.bsky.social @lvrussell.bsky.social

#FantasyIndiesNovember Day 30
Not sure how much I can help w/ marketing, as I'm not as consistent in it as I probably should be.
That being said...maybe pick up my books if you're searching for an epic fantasy series full of action, intrigue, & romance! 🥹

#FantasyIndiesNovember 29 and 30
30- don't think of marketing as "I have to do this." Think of it as a conversation. You're looking for people who like the things that you've made, so think about what YOU like and how it shows in your work, and talk about that!
29 is the attached image.
📚 Monthly Wrap Up 📚
This month was busy, and December’s schedule is already packed too! 😅 I sent my WIP Marriage of Survival to betas, started my winter fantasy WIP, and got the first artwork for the latter.

#FantasyIndiesNovember Monthly Wrap-Up
Did almost no writing because I've been traveling: Kauai Writers Conference, then D.C. to see my son, and I'm off to Disney tomorrow. I did release MANIFESTING DESTINY (please check it out! www.amazon.com/Manifesting-...). Fun but tiring month.

I have no marketing advice. I am the worst as marketing (and have nothing really to market anyhow.)
But monthly wrap-up?
I polished up HermitageWIP and sent it to beta!
Thanks to everyone for putting these games together!!🥰
#FantasyIndiesNovember 30. Marketing Tips?
As someone who has a marketing degree, I can tell you wholeheartedly, book marketing sucks. It's a full-time endeavor and even then it's not guaranteed. TIP: Just do your best
*there is no 31st day so my wrap-up is that I survived, my wips survived.

If I had some good marketing tips, I would definitely share them. 😆 I guess the best advice I can give is be yourself when marketing.

30: Wrap-up
Excellent month! Bloodmaster #3 is inching ever closer to release, I got some sales and page reads (more than usual!), and made some progress in my new WIP.
But there's more! 🧵
#FantasyIndiesNovember
Monthly wrap-up
- Secured an editor for Mielea's Lost!
- Project Phoenix has 4 new handwritten pages added. Digital document is 21k words.
- Secret WIP is has more progress.
- During vacation, the muses decided it needed to outline a totally new story. 😅

I've *heard* that you should begin marketing before you're published; give yourself some pre-pub hype.
I've *heard* you should post SOMETHING every single day.
I've *heard* a lot- but I have very little #MarketingAdvice of my own.

Monthly wrap-up time!
I have finished another editing pass of The Ember's Fall this month; I think that makes six now?
Probably won't have time for much during the next month with the holidays, but we'll see.

Thanksgiving!
Emerson turned back to look out the back window and a scream followed. “Holy shit! People are attacking each other!” “Eyes on mom! Off everyone else and only on mom!” I ordered. Emerson took a deep breath but her hands shook against the leather headrest. A barrage of gunshots from automatic rifles filled the air. “They’re shooting everyone… The military's shooting everyone.”
#FantasyIndiesNovember 29. Snippet Saturday
Picture is a block of text taken from the preface of "A Tchao In Ilimak" by JG Duke. It reads: There are thirty Kataloi, and Jinakoma is the twenty-third of them. Each is as unique and wonderful as the next, from Didatolaw's ligneous antlers to Timogaho's indestructible shell. Each is wild and powerful and great, and Jinakoma is no exception. His physique is first noticed by his long, beautiful, color-changing hair. His eyes flash in vibrant hues, confessing and reflecting his emotions. His skin is tattooed in red and green, and these are the colors of Tchao; colors Jinakoma has not seen in five hundred years. He has been banished; punished for a crime he did not commit; exiled from everything he holds dear- from Brachao, and from his beloved mentor, Yaiksadu.
Photo is a temporary book cover. It shows a cut-down tree trunk with a small green twig rising from the dead trunk. White text reads "A Tchao in Ilimak, a story of Dainu, by JG Duke".

The #preface of each book is about 1 of the 30 Kataloy. Each time, the Kataloy mentioned shares some strikingly similar feature - history, interest, personality trait - to the MC of the book.
