New podcasts from Find My Past use context to engage researchers of all ages by looking at major events through the eyes of real people. We’re already captivated by the adventures of historian Lucy Worsley’s grandmother, through two wars and more.

Shocked to find my mum has a secret past! ;)
Researching for the next book on #FindMyPast, I couldn’t resist putting family names in. I didn’t realise mum had been so busy, presumably before she met my dad…

Just a quick heads-up on a couple of the above ☝🏻 offers: the #Findmypast offer via Lost Cousins ends today, Jan 11th, while the #Ancestry offers (in the UK, and likely elsewhere) end tomorrow, Jan 12th.

It’s the ability to do simple filtering by decades, years and months I’m really missing. #Findmypast #FamilyHistory
What on earth have @findmypast.bsky.social done to their newspaper date search? The process now has so many steps, and has removed key filter options, it’s made it virtually unusable and unfit for purpose. They’ve ruined it.

Where was my Great, Great, Great Grandfather ‘Billy’ Swift 220 years ago today? Thanks to a Battle of Trafalgar records update on Find My Past, I now believe that he was on board the HMS Ajax, picking up survivors.

Has anyone ever come across an entry in a census you know is factually wrong, but correctly transcribed from the original by #Ancestry or #FindMyPast, so you can't send in an error report to get it changed?
It's so frustrating!

Yes, #FindmyPast, the occupation of a man living at a Somerset vicarage in 1871 with his wife - whose occupation is listed helpfully as 'Vicar's wife' - is, naturally the 'maid'. 😐
It actually says 'Vicar of Mid[somer] Norton', so how they heck they read it as 'maid', I've no idea!

A screenshot from genealogy website Find My past showing an 1871 census entry for a man named John Jones, described as Head of the household, aged 33, born in 1838 and born in Wiley Parish, Shropshire. Under occupation it says "Gran?"
Perhaps not? 😐 #FindMyPast #genealogy
Please explain, #FindMyPast, why, when I add a marriage event (from your hints), to a person it changes their Life status from #Deceased to #Unknown. *Even though the marriage was over 150 years ago*!
