We knew if we succeeded in the #FixTheWEO campaign and secured a central 1.5ºC-aligned scenario in #WEO21, the oil & gas industry and its enablers would try to claim 1.5ºC was impossible as a way to ignore the truth of their destructive business models & policies.

I don't know if you understand just how big of a shift the great folks at @PriceofOil have achieved with #FixTheWEO. After years of campaigning they've pushed the #IEA, founded to respond to the oil crisis in the '70s, to become a chief advocate for 💥fossil fuel phase-out💥 now.

If the @IEA wants to help countries achieve #climate goals like @fbirol says, it needs to align its analysis with those goals & #FixTheWEO.
That means putting 1.5ºC at its heart, cutting inflated gas and CCS estimates back to IPCC pathways....

2) Plan to manage a rapid decline of all fossil fuels, stop betting on fossil gas
