Since my initial disdain for #Flatpaks, I have discovered that there are some --SOME-- that don't consume ludicrous amounts of hard drive space. I still dislike the format as a whole, since most that I want to install seem to be of the type that consumes 3GB+ of disk space for a 50MB tool.
