A group of bright purple petals on a Lunaria annua, commonly called honesty or annual honesty, growing wild on a green bank below a hedge and next to a steep lane. The lane rises up towards a field on the left at the top where a large Oak tree, still without its covering of green, stands guard. Honesty is a species of flowering plant in the cabbage and mustard family, originally from southern Europe but introduced into gardens in Britain and now escaping to the countryside. Let’s hope more of the real honesty can spread into the world in the same way. Camera: iPhone 15 Pro.
