Genuary 2026 — Day 31 #genuary #genuary31
the whole game runs almost purely on #glsl shaders and is fully generative (phyics+cars+terrain) ...so perfect fit for #genuary31 #genuary2026 #genuary
sidenote: the whole binary has 6mb in total (~4 floppy discs ;-) and mostly due to exe&libs ;-P #gamedev

I don't know much about GLSL, but it's fun. Variations on a piece by the GLSL artist @YoheiNishitsuji

#genuary Day 31: Use only shaders.
turtleSpaces uses two shaders: one for the 'line' default pentype, and a pixel / dither shader (just called 'shader'). So I made a routine using the line and perlin noise.

#genuary31 - Shaders. Here's a fractal animated using shaders. There is a single orbit trap along the imaginary axis, which swings left and right to make the animation. For the original WebGL-rendered version, go to […]

GLSL Day. Time to close out #genuary for this year with another little path tracer. Thanks for following along!

Genuary 31: GLSL day. Create an artwork using only shaders.
I learnt a lot during this Genuary, and have many ideas that I want to explore further in the year ahead.

#Genuary31 - GLSL day.
Typically I avoid using shaders. Something about the process just doesn't click with me. Experimenting for this piece I found that I could process an image extremely quickly.
Here a webcam image is modified to resemble a CRT display with NES style rendering.

Thank you for all the great submissions this year <3

Here is my final contribution to #genuary #genuary2026 #genuary31 Shaders.
I made a version of this in shadertoy a couple of years back. I was trying to make fractals. Got Claude to help me get it into #p5.js. Now my weekend plans have all been trashed.
I learned a lot this month!

Genuary 31: GLSL day. Create an artwork using only shaders. Argh, shaders! So cool but very head-breaking. I reused code from day 1 and fed it into a paint-like color-mixing shader built with Spectral.js. That’s a wrap! #genuary #genuary31 #genuary2026
#genuary31 Promp: Shaders
I wrote a fragment shader in libGDX.
This is my very first self-written shader, so I went with a classic subject.

I can't believe Day 31: Shaders is the last one! I'm so grateful for the BlueSky dataviz community that helped me find #genuary, I've created and shared more of my work this month than any other time in my life!

Anyone have other community links for this kinda stuff?

Genuary 2025 Day 31 - Pixel Sorting
I made it through Genuary! In May!
This last one is a shader doing a 2D sort, by a weird sorting criterion. Since I've started playing with this technique, I discovered so many more cool outcomes which I will post in the future!

I'm finishing up #genuary31 — Pixel Sorting — with a subtle breeze, sitting under an umbrella in Tafraoute #morocco. Sit back, relax and enjoy this little #glsl #shader where I tried to sort pixels somewhat based on the blue color of this photo I took last week.

An image, with clear columns, has been agressive sorted by luminance to form a sharp, agressive set of colour pillars. The image is predominantly black and white, with streaks of neon green and purple.
#genuary2025 #genuary31 #genuary Pixel Sorting. A gentle finish to the month (only a bit late!) remixing my day 2 art. Love how concise this is with numpy. Code here: github.com/JELAshford/g...
#genuary31: Pixel sorting. So, this one didn't work out - I wanted to do it all in a fragment shader, but I couldn't work out if it was actually possible (or maybe my brain just hit a wall) 🫠 So, here's some experimentation

#genuary31 prompt: pixel sorting.
This took a lot of effort since I have zero experience with GLSL, but it's a success in the end. The pixels are sorted, indeed.
