She is a medicinal and culinary herb in the mint family, and her serrated green leaves do indeed look like spearmint leaves. Anise Hyssop is a perennial in zones 3 through 8. My Stock flowers surprised me by blooming in a high-90s heatwave in July; they're usually done once spring temps hit the mid-70s. These highly fragranced blooms are pollinator magnets and are edible for humans.
