To the lower right is a poem in Chinese which translates to: "My name is Immortal Hongfei of the darkness I am alive Spirit of Heaven and Earth" At the end of the poem is the artist's signature and chop, also know as a hanko or stamp, which verifies the authenticity of a piece of artwork. At the bottom left curve of the snake is a "mood" chop which is a logogram in Classic Mayan meaning balance, or violent seasonal change, synonymous with a yin-yang. Between the feathers of the wing on the upper right is another mood chop which is a conflated logogram in Classic Mayan indicating the pathway to the afterlife on earth, in other words heaven on earth or hell on earth depending on personal interpretation.
