Between 'Great Hall' and keep it is supposed that there was a building that housed the kitchens, now largely disappeared

There is a strong view that a hall has a fireplace at the end and a chamber has it on the side. Here the chimney is on the wall external to the castle as one may expect but this is a side wall

The hall has just three windows on this elelvation. The heads are double chamfered segmental pointed although they look roll moulded in places due to the erosion of the red sandstone

This space has been identified as the 'Great Hall' of #GoodrichCastle with the remains of the south-west tower far end. A C14 addition or at least rebuilding. The Great Chamber is behind us #HeidiAtGoodrich #GoodrichGreatHall Part I of IV. The grey skies of summer
