An opportunity to watch #goosanders on the Cuddy Burn. 1st colonised Scotland around 1871. Favouring clear, fast-flowing water that lets them spot fish & typically nesting in tree cavities. More resting than fishing today.

I've been trying to use my binocular camera for #Waterfowl #Goosanders #birds. I've cropped them but it's done something weird with the branch that was in the way on the first photo 🤔 how #bizarre

Light catching the #goosanders on the #EddlestonWater in #Peebles. Just 4 dotted amongst a much larger group of mallard ducks. Occasional conflict with fisheries managers due to stated predation effects on salmon.
