Morning #run before my Tuesday Conservation and Care shift at #GreysCourt.
Saw the #Heron but wasn't swift enough to get a photo in flight.
The 3rd photo is a set of scales Sir Felix would have used to weigh letters for postage. The rates are stamped on the scale π

Itβs #Bluebell time! #Spring really is here when the beech & chestnut trees come into leaf as the bluebells come into flower. These pix taken at #GreysCourt where the bluebells will be at their peak this weekend.
Bluebells at #NationalTrust #GreysCourt near Henley-on-Thames now in bloom
At NT #GreysCourt near Henley-on-Thames, the famous wisteria will be in bloom in about a weeksβ time β this is the wisteria at the house β while the crabapple bower is quite stunning. Youβll always be welcome, regardless of whatβs flower.
Early morning #run before my stint as Conservation and Care Volunteer at #GreysCourt for the #NationalTrust.
The painting is one of my favourites. By WP Mundy dated 1982, the year Sir Felix died. He and Lady B. were married for 56 years and I think you can tell π

Busy day but managed to squeeze in a #run. Pleased with the pace. (Plus I've ordered a #Garmin Fenix 8 solar π)
Photos are from a visit to #GreysCourt including one of the costume Elizabeth Brunner (Irvine) wore as Titania in a production of Midsummer Nights Dream.

At #GreysCourt near Henley-on-Thames today, where the cherry trees are now in bloom. #Spring
Sheep safely grazing in the late afternoon sunlight at #GreysCourt this afternoon.
I spent the morning volunteering for the NT at #GreysCourt cleaning some of the ceramics collection.
Some items were made in Zurich others in Chelsea. Most date from around 1760.
Still no #running (knee problems) but if my new running shoes arrive tomorrow I may have to try them regardless..π
The front door to the mansion at Greys Court in Oxfordshire. It is a double-leaf wooden door with iron fastenings. There is a Christmas wreath on the door and snow on the threshold
A view of the brick-built 16th century Well House at Grey's Court. The building is set within a yard and there are further ranges of buildings to the rear. There is a diaper brickwork pattern of black and red bricks on the north face and a single window and a green painted door with a ventilation grille above it. The scars of a roof line indicate that at some point in time there was another smaller building attached to it.
Day 3 of #ArchaeologyAdvent & we're off to #GreysCourt in #Oxfordshire. Inside the brick-built Well House is the well shaft, probably dug in the 14th century & the largest surviving donkey wheel in this country (late 16th century) @nationaltrust.bsky.social πΊ
