Researchers studied Hb levels across different ages and sexes 📊. They found that Hb levels shift as we grow. This means a single anaemia definition does not fit everyone! These results are changing how doctors find and treat anaemia across the world. 🌍 #Haematology
3/ A study published in The Lancet Haematology in 2024 sought to re-evaluate haemoglobin thresholds across different races, sexes and age groups using modern global data. They used data from 5 continents, surveying healthy individuals aged 6 months to 65 years. #haematology

- Acute reactions
- Haemolytic Reactions
- Blood transfusion error (IBCT-SRNM)
SHOT received only 2 cases in 12 hospitals.

🩸Alloantibodies may occur with lifelong transfusion in conditions as sickle cell disease
Compatible blood becomes even more difficult to locate. Rh (C,c,D,E,e) antigen matching and Kell antigen matching aid in the safety of transfusion. 🧬🧪
