"aaaaaaa ccccc deeeee ghiiiiiii Illl mm nnnnnnnnn oooopp grrs ttttt uuuuu" was the first written human description of Saturn having rings, by Christian Huygens in 1655. He encoded it as a Latin anagram in his book Systema Saturnium, before claiming credit for the disovery three years later. This was proof he discovered it first, while giving himself time to refine his initial findings.

This raw image was returned on 14 January 2005, by ESA's Huygens probe after landing on Titan. Sizes have been added to indicate scale of these features. Initially thought to be rocks or ice blocks, they are more pebble-sized. The two rock-like objects just below the middle of the image are about 15 cm (left) and 4 cm (centre) across respectively, at a distance of about 85 cm rom Huygens. The surface is darker than originally expected, consisting of a mixture of water and hydrocarbon ice. There is also evidence of erosion at the base of these objects, indicating possible fluvial activity.

The #CassiniHuygens mission to #Saturn was one of the most exciting of my lifetime. On #ThisDayInHistory in 2004 the #Cassini orbiter released the #Huygens probe, which later landed on Saturn's large moon #Titan. Seeing images of the hydrocarbon lakes on its surface was amazing.

Cassini was the orbiter and Huygens was the lander.  Cassini and Huygens worked in astronomy and physics respectively during the 17th century in pursuit of a better understanding of Saturn.  Would they not love this?!
