Re: Liu Xueyi dramas, I first saw him in #AncientLovePoetry & #LoveandRedemption, & looked out for him afterwards. I liked him in #TheBloodofYouth, in #InBlossom, #LoveNeverFails & #AMomentButForever

Face-swapping is one of my favourite cdrama tropes! The most recent drama I saw with this was #InBlossom, and I love that it is just accepted as a rare but normal probability among other probabilities😅
But the cgi face-swap usually does feel weird - as it did in #BrocadeOdyssey

i’m watching #InBlossom right now and #KillMeLoveMe did something for me even though the writing and pacing and characters were inconsistent. so basically i have only seen him in lead roles but he’s great at playing a villain-coded vibe (even though of course he’s not actually a villain in either)

#EYDC2024 day 28 - something you want to see more in dramas. I like seeing female friendship where the women are equal in status, not mistress and attendant. Yang Cai Wei and Bao Xiao Sheng in #InBlossom and Duan Wu and Yue Yun Xiu in #TheStoryofthePearlGirl are great examples of this.

#InBlossom was such a cool drama. It didn’t resonate with everyone, but I liked the characters, the intrigue, the costumes, the ghost-market - my only regret was that they had to kill off Zheng He Hui Zi after the face-swap. I really liked her character, even though Ju Jing Yi was good too.

Ha! I’ve seen at least a couple of cdramas where face-swapping is a ‘thing’; they just accepted it as a normal range possibility for it to happen! It’s a fun way of creating hidden identity; though in the case of #InBlossom it was a shame to lose #ZhengHeHuiZi (even though I liked #JuJingYi too).

#EYDC2024 day 23 - innovative drama I watched in 2024. I am going to use the word “innovative” to mean inventive use of a plot point. The whole face-swapping thing in #InBlossom was a new one for me. It was odd considering the rest of the story was grounded in reality. Still, the show was v. good.

I’m a fan of Ju Jingyi, even though some of her dramas are unfinishable! (I’m thinking of #RebirthForYou and #LegendofYunxi - fun dramas to begin with, but there are just too many evil characters and the leads suffer endlessly in recycled agony). I liked her in #InBlossom and #LegendofWhiteSnake
